Asymmetric v Symmetric

The organisers have made the decision that the classes will seperate  boats with bowsprits from those with conventional spinnaker poles if the entry numbers allow four classes.  In previous years three classes have been made on IRC rating splits.

This new initiative will give boats with conventional spinnakers an equal footing when the Overall IRC Double Handed National Champions for 2017 is determined.  The Solent is a great place to race but in normal circumstances an advantage is gained by the asynnetric boats.

The Notice of Race can be found here.  In order to give the best possible chance of creating four classes - two asymmetric classes and 2 symmetric - entries need to be made as soon as possible.

The 2017 IRC Double Handed National Championships are to be held in the Solent on Friday 8th September to Sunday 10th September inclusive.
